Day 1
Day 01: Jodhpur - Jaisalmer (280km / 5 hrs)

Pick up from Rly Stn. / Airport. & proceed to Jaisalmer, the golden city of Rajasthan. In the late afternoon check in at hotel. Later proceed for sightseeing tour of The Golden City - Jaisalmer. Visit the beautifully and magnificently carved Havelis of Salim Singh ki Haveli and Patwon ki Haveli and Gandhi Sagar Tank, followed by a visit to the Barabagh Hill. Return back to hotel. Overnight stay in Jaisalmer

Day 2
Day 02: Jaisalmer to Dessert sand dunes (45 km / 1.5 hrs)

Today after breakfast checkout from hotel and visit the 12th century magnificent fort at Jaisalmer (This is the highlight of the tour). Later proceed to San dunes for Camel Ride. Overnight stay in Tent.

Note:- Tents are closed from Mar to Sep. Only Camel ride is available at an additional cost payable directly.

Day 3
Day 03: Jaisalmer - Jodhpur (280 km / 5 hrs)

After Breakfast & check out from hotel & drive to Jodhpur. Arrive Jodhpur and check in at hotel. Day at leisure. Overnight stay in Jodhpur.

Day 4
Day 04: Jodhpur sightseeing

After Breakfast at hotel. Proceed for local city sightseeing tour. Jodhpur, stronghold of the fierce Rathore clan, was founded in 1459 by Prince Jodha. Visit the Mehrangarh Fort, situated on a low sandstone hill. Within the fort, visit Moti Mahal and Phool Mahal . Also visit Jaswant Thada , an imposing marble cenotaph, built in memory of Maharaja Jaswant singh II around 1899 and Umaid Public gardens. Return back to hotel and overnight stay.

Day 5
Day 05: Jodhpur Airport Drop

Today after breakfast checkout from hotel and drop you at railway st. for onwards journey

How to Reach Jaisalmer From Jodhpur

Jaisalmer by Air: Jaisalmer does not have any airport within the city. The nearest airport to Jaisalmer is Jodhpur airport which is situated at a distance of around 275 kilometers. The Jodhpur airport is connected with domestic and international flights to and from major destinations.


Jaisalmer by Railway: Jaisalmer is connected with various cities through broad gauge and meter gauge railway tracks. There are direct trains from the cities of Delhi and Jaipur to Jaisalmer. The 'Palace on Wheels' also connects Jaisalmer.


Jaisalmer by Road: Jaisalmer has good road connectivity with various cities of Rajasthan and Gujarat. Several state transport and private buses ply on the routes between these cities. The Golden Bus Terminal and Roadways main bus stand are the two main bus stands in Jaisalmer. The cities of Jodhpur, Bikaner and Ajmer are located at a distance of 275 KM, 270 KM and 375 KM from Jaisalmer. It also has a good connectivity with the state capital Jaipur, which is some 500 KM away from Jaisalmer. There is good bus service and cabs available.


Best time to visit Rajasthan

The summers in Rajasthan (Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Jaisalmer) are hot and humid with the average temperatures rising up to as high as 45 degrees Celsius at times. This phenomenal rise of the mercury, which takes place between the months of April to June sees the golden sands of the Thar Desert glistening under the scorching rays of the mid day sun.

Best time to visit Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Jaisalmer (Rajasthan) is a winter season (October - February), because the summer season is the hottest season of Rajasthan, but in winter temperature is down. In Jaisalmer the summer temperatures could go up to 47° C and down to minus 1° C in winter.  So, that winter season is the best season to visit Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Jaisalmer.


Places to visit In Jodhpur

Umaid Bhawan Palace: Umaid Bhawan Palace, located at Jodhpur in Rajasthan, India, is one of the world's largest private residences. The Umaid Bhawan Palace at Jodhpur, India's last great Palace was constructed between 1929 and 1944. Named after The Late His Highness Maharaja Umaid Singhji, the palace has been the residence of Maharaja Umaid Singhji and his successors. The private museum attached to the Palace contains a small but exquisite set of display section, exhibiting arms, furniture, antique clocks and priceless China vases that formed a part the private collection of Maharajas of Jodhpur. The Umaid Bhawan Palace is equipped to cater to all segments of travelers, be they visitors on business or leisure to the city of Jodhpur.

Meharangarh Fort: Mehrangarh Fort, Jodhpur is one of the largest forts in forts. It is also the most magnificent fort in Jodhpur, in fact, in the whole Rajasthan. The fort is amongst the popular tourist places in India. It is situated on a 150 m high hill. It was founded by Rao Jodha in 1459. The Mehrangarh Fort can be reached from the city, 5 kms below, through a circular road.

Mandor garden: In the Mandore garden, there are the dewals or cenotaphs of Jodhpur's former rulers. Instead of the usual chhatri-shaped cenotaphs typical of Rajasthan, the cenotaphs of the famous Mandore garden of Jodhpur, Rajasthan are built along the lines of a Hindu temple. The most impressive dewal is the dewal of Maharaja Ajit Singh. These cenotaphs are set in beautiful landscaped gardens. The cenotaphs of the Maharani are set on a rocky outcrop over the hill.

Jaswant Thada: Famous Jaswant Thada in Jodhpur, India is an example of architectural brilliance in India. It is a white marble memorial, built out of intricately carved sheets of marble. The carving shows the genius of the sculptors. These stones are extremely thin and polished. As a result, the outside surface of the monument emits a warm glow when the sunrays fall on its surface. There is also beautiful marble jali work on the cenotaph. You can have some nice views from the terrace in front of the cenotaph.The son of Maharaja Jaswant Singh, Maharaja Sardar Singh, in the memory of his father, built the Jaswant Thada. The cenotaph has two more tombs within it. Near to this are the royal crematorium and three other cenotaphs.


Places to visit In Jaisalmer

Jaisalmer Fort: Jaisalmer fort is the second oldest in Rajasthan. Jaisalmer Fort is a monument worth visiting and worth retaining in your conscious mind. Like various other cities of Rajasthan, in Jaisalmer too you will find different facets of its own glorious heritage. Though you can find historical monuments scattered all over the city, the Jaisalmer Fort will immediately command your attention. Made of sand stones and locally known as Sonar Quila, the Jaisalmer Fort is a dominating structure amidst sands. The city is said to be founded by one Raja Rawal Jaisal, a Bhatti Rajput ruler, in approximately 1156 A D.

Jain temple: These temples are built in the Dilwara style that is famous all over the world for its architecture. The style got its name from the famous 'Dilwara Temples' situated on Mount Abu, a famous Hill station and pilgrimage destination in Rajasthan. The Jain temples in the Jaisalmer Fort are dedicated to Rikhabdevji and Shambhavdev Ji, the famous Jain hermits known as 'Tirthankars'. Like all other structures in Jaisalmer, these temples are craved of yellow sandstones. The beautifully carves decorations on the wall will give you divine peace. The Astapadhi Temples that are situated in the same complex are a must visit too.

Havellies: The havelis are also known as the 'mansion of brocade merchants'. This name has been given probably because the family dealt in threads of gold and silver used in embroidering dresses. This is the largest Haveli in Jaisalmer and stands in a narrow lane. This Haveli’s is presently occupied by the government, which uses it for various purposes. The office of the Archaeological Survey of India and State art and craft department is situated in the Haveli itself.
